Air Max Hyperdunk 2011 - Chris Bosh - Teaser

Been seeing mixed comments since the first Hyperfuse and Hyperdunk series were launched. Finally decided to pick up the Hyperdunk 2011, but instead I have gone with the full Air Max version coz it should be more comfortable to hoop in than the Zoom dunks, or the Enforcers...

What you are looking at is the exact pair Chris Bosh wears on court. Despite the heavier weight of this Hyperdunk due to full Max Air bag, it is identical to the regular dunks 2011 and dunk Extreme 2011. Complaint you normally hear on the 2010 was the foot sitting too high off ground with potential ankle roll. Also between the toe box and heel of the shoe is curved a bit too much causes an awkward feeling. 2010 also takes a long time to break in, a very prototype kind of feeling.

I have never worn a 2010 before so can't say how true the above comments were. But it seems quite true from pictures as well when I held on to one. 2011 carried a similar design off 2010 but completed with 4 layers of Flywires through out the entire upper shoe. It is highly flexible while maintaining maximum ankle lockdown. The Air Max 2011 weight 14.4oz while regular version weight 13oz. It does feels very light indeed.

Another different between this Air Max and regular 2011 is the 3 carbon fiber look TPU shanks at the mid-bottom of the sole are missing and replaced by Max Air bag / 3D looking reinforced shank. The extra cushion makes it really comfortable to wear even just quickly trying it on. I love the solid outsole rubber with herringbone pattern should provide excellent on court grip yea!!!

My only concern is what you see in the tongue. It seems to have sacrificed on providing enough cushion / protection if I lace it up real tight as the tongue is REALLY thin. I am not worry about ventilation but I would love to see improvement on a thicker tongue given that the 2012 has already leaked on the Internet with no details just yet.

There must be reasons why the Hyperdunk, HD low, and Hyperfuse series were very widely used by loads of players in the NBA and NCAA although they were not any player's signature except for various PE colorways. I do have a high expectation on performance and looking forward giving a try on my next run.
