Air Penny III - LE HOH

Got a few pairs of these on hand for a while now. Also got around balling on them a few months back, still an amazing shoes to hoop in for a design at its age with no herringbone, dynamic Flywire, Fuse, Zoom Max but classic Zoom plus 180 Max combo. Never too old if you're Penny freak like me.

This Magic inspired cw HOH exclusive Penny III came out back in July 2011. Royal blue upper nubuck base with black Foams like overlay on lateral , not only it is classic and clean but great remembrance for Penny's old days. Only thing is due to its material used the Penny III's will lose its shape easy unlike what we have nowadays.

Just like all other Penny IIIs, Zoom bag under the forefoot with 180 Max on heel connected by light weight Phylon mid sole with TPU plate supporting. One Cent logo on tongue, by heel, and bottom outsole reminds you who this kicks belongs to.

I was first questioning how traction would be for this square shape patterns on court. Which turned out surprisingly good. The deep forefoot cross grooves provided enough flexibility while maintaining excellent grip even on half decent dusty court. Traction wise I found these are very close to herringbones comparable to newer generations like Melo M8 and KD V.

The Penny III is a very comfortable sneakers to ball in overall. If you like shoes that fits like a glove this one will definitely do the job especially the fore-mid foot. Cushion was super and couldn't ask for more. Ankle support wasn't too bad considered its design, but you will have to lace up really tight for more stability. The only thing missing is ventilation. Oh well it was never a consideration back in the days so expect the soaked up socks after some hard ballings.
